08/25 Late night host Jimmy Kimmel's opening monologue includes a short comedy skit based on the rumors printed in US Weekly and People Magazine that three songs from JC's upcoming album are about his relationship/breakup with actress Eva Longoria.

The accompanying message mentions some of the producers he is working with and states that his second solo album is due out in 2006. It also mentions that he is preparing for a "special concert event" this November. [The mention of the concert event is removed from the site the next day, as apparently not all the information in the message had final confirmation.]
10/10 Alex Greggs posts an update on the MusicFreedom message board. Talks are still in progress regarding what content will be allowed on JC's MusicFreedom site vs. Jive's official site. Alex also mentions that JC is in Atlanta this week, finishing up some work with producer Dallas Austin.
10/11 Celebrity blog perezhilton.com posts an item stating that JC is working on his new album with Timbaland and Akon.
10/12 Singer/songwriter Kara DioGuardi, who has worked with artists like Santana, the Pussycat Dolls and Gwen Stefani, has the following message posted on her website: "KARA DIOGUARDI's upcoming releases include songs recorded by: Platinum Weird, Santana, Anastacia, Paris Hilton, Pussycat Dolls, Lindsay Lohan, Ashlee Simpson, Ryan Cabrera, Whitney Houston, JC Chasez, Christy Romano, Cheyenne, and Hilary Duff."
10/14 ET on MTV airs a segment on JC and Dallas Austin in the studio. They are working on what MTV says is the first single from the new album, a song called "All Over You." JC also says that he hasn't decided on a title for the album. [transcript]
10/20 The Stamford Advocate runs an article on singer/songwriter Jonatha Brooke in which she mentions that she just spent time in California writing with JC.
10/24 According to MTV.com, R&B singer Frankie J will be working on a song with JC for JC's new record. [article]

11/07 Alex Greggs posts an update on the MusicFreedom message board. JC has made some "impressive" tracks with Dallas Austin and has recently been working with Akon on some songs for the record. Next week JC will be in Florida to finish up some songs with Alex.
  A new song ("I Don't Care [What Your Friends Think]") is listed on the ASCAP Database. JC, Nathan Butler, and Riprock & Alex G are credited as the writers; it is unclear whether this song is intended for JC's new album.
11/10 In response to a question on the MusicFreedom message board, Alex Greggs estimates that promotion for JC's new album could begin around March 2006, to coincide with the release of the first single.
11/12 At the 2005 Vibe Awards, Akon ("Lonely," "Locked Up") mentions that he is currently working on music projects with JC and a couple of other artists.
11/15 Alex Greggs posts a brief update on Music Freedom. JC's schedule has changed slightly, therefore he and Alex will not be going into the studio until around Thanksgiving. JC's monthly podcast should be up later this week.
11/27 The website for producer Jim Beanz lists JC as one of the artists that he is currently working with. According to Beanz's management, he has amassed production and vocal arrangement credits with artists such as Will Smith, Nelly Furtado, Diddy, Timbaland, Fat Joe and Ricky Martin.
11/30 A DJ in Atlanta mentions on air that JC is in town working with Akon, and that JC and Akon have requested passes to the local radio show Frosty the Showman, which takes place on December 7th.

  Interview with Russell Rush of San Antonio's Mix 96.1, held during the press call on the day before the Radio Music Awards in Las Vegas. JC says that he has turned in the last batch of songs for his album; they are looking to pick the first single soon after the new year and it should drop sometime in the first quarter. He mentions that he worked with Dallas Austin on the album, as well as Timbaland and Akon.

Interview with JoJo of Kiss FM 95.7 (Hartford, CT), held at the Radio Music Awards Backstage Bash, 12/18/05. JC says that he worked with Dallas Austin, Timbaland and Akon on the album and mentioned that he recorded a track with Justin Timberlake as well.

12/19 Cleveland's Kiss FM radio station airs an interview with JC (taped the previous day). According to a listener, he told the DJ interviewing him that his album will be completed this week and that they are gong to pick the first single near the beginning of the year with the CD coming out shortly after.
12/23 The JC Chasez Official Fan Club sent an email to members today, telling them to expect a new single early next year, with the album to follow in the spring.
12/25 Eric Bazilian (formerly of the Hooters) writes in his online journal that he recently spent three days in Los Angeles writing with singer/songwriter Jonatha Brooke and JC Chasez. 
12/28 According to allhiphop.com, one of Timbaland's upcoming production credits is "Fire" with JC Chasez.

He says that one song (although not identified by name, we can assume that he is referring to "I'm Not Sleeping Alone") has been leaked, although it is not in its final version. 07/04 Thai publication The Nation posts an article regarding two songwriters/producers who are working on the album of a Thai pop star. It mentions that the pair also worked with JC, though no specifics are given as to whether the song will be on the upcoming album. [article excerpt]

07/13 Lance Bass updates his MySpace: "I heard 2 songs from JC's album.. and they are incredible.. one he and Justin wrote together, and the other is a ballad called "I'm Not Sleeping Alone".. which is one of the best songs I've heard! 09/05 JC no longer with Jive? One rumor has it that JC has been dropped by Jive. Other sources say that he threatened to initiate a breach of contract suit against the label several weeks ago, which ultimately led to the agreement to part ways.
