From Bowie and back again

Alex Greggs talks about MusicFreedom

In its early conception, Music Freedom was a fan site for JC Chasez, a member of NSYNC, and we were going to launch with JC, and slowly introduce the music freedom side. Later in 2004, JC’s record came out and we went our separate ways.

We are feverishly working on the third version of the site, which will be more intuitive. It’s also going to be a means where musicians can hook-up with producers.

Cheetah Girls album release

The new album from The Cheetah Girls, TCG, is set for release on 9/25/07. According to their MySpace, JC has co-written one of the songs on the album:

“Break Out This Box”-a piano-ladden pop track Adrienne and Sabrina collaborated on with writers including JC Chasez and producer Ron “Neff-U” Feemster of Jay-Z and Ne-Yo fame-is about not letting anyone hold you back. “It was important for us to send a message about reaching for every goal that you want to achieve in life,” explains Sabrina. “That’s how we’ve lived our lives, and it’s worked for us!”

JC/AJ song title: Treat Me Right

Today during a Backstreet Boys interview with Q102 FM, AJ was asked about the song that he and JC wrote, and he gave a few more details:

AJ: I wrote it with him [JC] for Backstreet and the fellows and I just finished cutting it about four or five days ago, and uh, pushin’ for it to be on the Backstreet Boy record. It’s a, it’s a great song. It’s like R&B, pop…it’s called “Treat Me Right.” So I hope everyone loves it, I mean, the guys sound great on it, JC and I were in there, you know, it was awesome.

JC/Backstreet Boys song in the works

The Backstreet Boys were on the Kidd Kraddick morning radio show to promote their upcoming single and album. During the interview, Nick Carter mentioned that the group had recently recorded a song co-written by JC and AJ McLean.

Nick: But actually the coolest stuff is just starting to actually happen. Towards the…after we picked our single “Inconsolable,” we still wanted to record a couple more songs, and actually we have an uptempo that AJ and JC from NSYNC wrote that we just recorded a couple weeks ago.
